Job Overview
We’re looking for a friendly and organised Finance Assistant to join our finance team in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. About the Role
In this role, you’ll support the day to day financial activities of the organisation. You’ll be processing invoices and arranging payments, including payments to foster families. You’ll raise sales invoices and help manage outstanding payments, carry out bank reconciliations and keep financial records accurate. You’ll support with accounting entries using Xero and
You’ll provide general support to the finance team and get involved in wider team activities when needed.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day financial transactions, including processing invoices and expense claims
Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems regularly
Support the preparation of financial reports and statements under supervision
Reconcile accounts and monitor discrepancies to ensure data integrity
Assist with payroll administration and employee expense reimbursements
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely completion of financial tasks
Contribute to the organisation’s compliance with financial policies and procedures
Support audit preparations by organising relevant documentation

Experience

You’ll have at least AAT Level 2 and some experience in accounting or bookkeeping
You’ll be organised, reliable, and have a strong eye for detail
You’ll feel comfortable using finance systems, with Xero experience being a bonus
You’ll be a team player with good communication skills
You’ll bring a positive attitude and a flexible approach to your work
This role provides valuable hands-on experience in finance operations within a supportive team environment.

Pay: Up to £25,000.00 per year
