Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations while contributing to a welcoming dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of the head chef or kitchen manager
Support food safety and hygiene practices in accordance with health regulations
Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and organising supplies for cooking
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
Assist with serving food to customers or staff as required
Restock supplies and organise storage areas to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment for all team members

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is key
Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety standards
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards customer service and teamwork
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
