Full job description

Kamsons Pharmacy (LS10 3NB) are recruiting for a Dispensing Assistant!

Previous Pharmacy experience is preferred but we are willing to train a candidate with the right attitude who is eager to learn and start a career in pharmacy. You will be given the opportunity to undertake NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant Course as part of your training.

Qualified Dispensers (NVQ 2), ACDA's, and Technicians (NVQ 3) are also welcome to apply.

Part-time roles available:

Monday and Tuesday 8:30-6:30, and Wednesday 8:30-13:30 = 24 hours
Wednesday 13:30 - 18:00, Thursday and Friday 8:30-6:30 = 23.5 hours

A full-time role could be available for a suitable candidate.

More hours are available if needed for a suitable applicant.

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Pharmacy Dispenser and provide the local community with excellent customer and pharmacy services.

This is a responsible position that requires concentration and a good eye for detail as accuracy is important. You must be able to work and communicate as part of a team in a busy fast paced environment be able to prioritise a varied workload and effectively multi-task.

The job is fast paced- the day really does fly by! You will be involved in different workstreams throughout the day as part of a team to achieve our goal of safely supplying medication, healthcare services and advice to our customers and the local community.

Our teams are small, friendly and work closely together - you will become an integral part of the team from the very start of your journey with Kamsons. Great communication with your colleagues and a teamly can-do attitude will be the key to success.

Main roles and responsibilities will include:

Label and dispense prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures in an efficient and accurate manner.
Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
Ordering sufficient medication and stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand and date/usage checking to maximise availability and minimise waste.
Create and update patient medication records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality.
Assist where necessary with the preparation of monitored dosage systems to benefit patients on multiple medication regimes.
Accurately check patient declarations on prescriptions and send data correctly to the NHS to ensure maximum payments are received with minimal losses.
Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties so that dispensary and back shop areas are kept clean and tidy.
Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.
Liaise with local surgeries and other healthcare professionals and handle queries regarding medication supply to ensure patients with medication and healthcare needs are met.
Participate in the delivery of any additional healthcare services for which you will have received adequate training.
