Engagement Context
Castrol is creating a standalone Digital organisation for a $10.1bn company following the outcome of the strategic review and the consequent sale of Castrol to Stonepeak. This requires the definition of a coherent enterprise digital strategy and architecture to enable Day 1 readiness and future-state scalability across global markets. The role will define the strategic, architectural, and investment direction required to support this transition.
Engagement Objective
The objective of this engagement is to deliver a complete, decision-ready Digital Strategy and Enterprise Architecture blueprint, including supporting artefacts and recommendations, to enable executive decision-making and programme mobilisation.
The role will provide independent advice and deliver defined outputs; all decision-making authority remains with Castrol.
Scope of Deliverables
The individual shall deliver the following outputs using their own expertise, methodologies, tools, and approach. This includes responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of the Services.
Digital Strategy Deliverables
Enterprise Digital Strategy document aligned to business objectives
Strategic technology principles, priorities, and investment themes
Assessment of key risks, dependencies, and capability gaps
Enterprise Architecture Deliverables
Current State Architecture Assessment (applications, data, infrastructure, security, analytics)
Target State Architecture (conceptual and logical models)
Architecture Transition Roadmap, including sequencing and dependencies
Architecture Governance Deliverables
Architecture principles, standards, and guardrails
Governance framework and decision-support artefacts
Design assurance and investment decision materials
Digital Portfolio and Investment Deliverables
Digital portfolio assessment aligned to strategy and risk
Investment prioritisation framework and recommendation pack
Identification of key risks and mitigation options
Data, Analytics and AI Deliverables
Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategy
Roadmap for data platform, analytics, and AI capability evolution
Recommended approaches to data quality, integration, and governance
Transition and Completion Deliverables
Knowledge transfer materials to support internal capability transition
Final engagement report summarising:
o Delivered outputs
o Key findings and recommendations
o Strategic considerations for execution

Commercial and Delivery Principles
The engagement is outcome-based, focused on delivery of defined Deliverables
There is no obligation for Castrol to provide ongoing work beyond the agreed scope.
There is no obligation for the individual to accept additional work outside the defined Deliverables.
