Senior Software Developer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain reliable software solutions that support enterprise applications and business-critical services. The successful candidate will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This role will work closely with product managers, software architects, engineers, quality assurance professionals, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable and maintainable software solutions. The Senior Software Developer will contribute to technical architecture, coding standards, application performance, security, and engineering best practices. The position requires strong programming fundamentals, practical experience with modern development frameworks, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, automated testing, and CI/CD practices. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently solving complex technical problems, reviewing and improving code, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to technical decisions that improve application reliability, scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software applications and services throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Translate business and technical requirements into technical designs, development plans, application components, and maintainable production solutions.
- Develop production-quality software using technologies such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or other appropriate programming languages.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven services, integrations, and distributed application components.
- Develop and optimize database solutions using SQL and technologies such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or comparable platforms.
- Build automated unit, integration, functional, and performance tests to improve application quality, reliability, and release confidence.
- Participate in technical architecture and design reviews, contributing recommendations around scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and technology selection.
- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and production support processes.
- Develop and maintain applications deployed on cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Investigate and resolve complex software defects, performance issues, production incidents, integration failures, and reliability problems.
- Conduct peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to improve code quality, maintainability, security, and engineering standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, developer productivity, automation, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering application architecture, APIs, development standards, deployment procedures, and operational processes.
- Mentor software developers and contribute to engineering standards, technical best practices, and delivery of complex cross-functional technology initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 6 or more years of professional experience in software development, software engineering, application development, backend development, full-stack development, or a closely related technical role.
- Advanced programming experience with one or more languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C++, or Go.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, software design patterns, system design, clean code principles, and software engineering practices.
- Demonstrated experience developing REST APIs, microservices, distributed applications, event-driven systems, or scalable enterprise software.
- Strong experience with relational databases and SQL, including practical knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or comparable database technologies.
- Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or comparable platforms is preferred.
- Practical experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or other enterprise cloud environments.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or comparable software development and deployment technologies.
- Strong understanding of automated testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, test-driven development, mocking, test automation, and continuous testing.
- Knowledge of application security principles including authentication, authorization, API security, encryption, secrets management, secure coding, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience working within Agile development environments using Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, backlog management, code reviews, estimation, and iterative delivery practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Developer, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, or comparable industry credentials.
