Full job description

Overview

Mega City is looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support our Chief Maintenance in keeping our large entertainment venue safe, presentable, and fully operational.

This is a hands-on role covering general repairs, routine checks, and everyday maintenance throughout the building. We need someone who takes pride in their work, notices problems and deals with them quickly.

Duties

Supporting the Chief Maintenance with daily tasks
Completing general repairs and maintenance around the venue
Carrying out building and equipment checks
Identifying and reporting faults
Basic painting, decorating, plumbing and repair work
Assembling, moving and repairing furniture and equipment
Supporting planned and preventative maintenance
Keeping maintenance areas and tools clean and organised
Responding quickly to maintenance issues during opening hours
Assisting external contractors when required
Following all health and safety procedures
Supporting the wider venue team when needed

Requirements

Practical and confident with basic maintenance tasks
Reliable, organised and able to follow instructions
Good attention to detail
Able to identify problems and find sensible solutions
Comfortable working in a busy customer-facing venue
Willing to help across different areas of the building
Able to work evenings and weekends when required
Previous maintenance, handyman or facilities experience is preferred but not essential

Any specialist electrical, gas or other regulated work must only be completed by someone with the appropriate qualifications.

This is a full-time position offering between 30 and 40 hours per week. Shifts will include weekdays, evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the business.
