Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse/Yard Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, shipping and receiving, and maintaining organisation within the warehouse and yard areas. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting various operational tasks essential to our business operations. Applicants should be physically fit, reliable, and possess a proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts
Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods
Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
Manage materials movement within the warehouse and yard areas, maintaining organisation and cleanliness
Support warehouse management
Conduct routine maintenance checks on mechanical equipment and tools
Handle heavy lifting tasks safely, following proper manual handling procedures
Assist with general yard duties such as organising storage areas and preparing goods for dispatch
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of daily operational goals

Experience

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of forklift operation is highly desirable; certification is advantageous
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is a plus
Mechanical knowledge or construction experience will be considered an asset
Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or load & unload operations is beneficial
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
Demonstrated reliability, organisational skills, and a strong commitment to safety standards

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
