Business Development Representative (B2B)

Online Lubricants Ltd
Waltham Abbey, Essex (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days remote after training)
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 9:00am–5:00pm
Flexible and part-time working considered (including school-friendly hours)

Salary

£25,000 basic + uncapped commission
Realistic OTE Year 1: £30,000+

OTE Year 2: £40,000+

For part-time candidates, salary and OTE will be pro-rated.

About Online Lubricants

Online Lubricants is a well-established national supplier of lubricants, hydraulic oils, AdBlue and industrial fluids. With 32 years of trading history and annual turnover of approximately £9 million, we supply businesses across construction, plant hire, transport, manufacturing, waste & recycling, power generation and engineering sectors.

We are expanding our commercial team and looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to help drive new customer growth.

The Role

This is a new business sales role, not a customer service or order processing position.

You will focus on identifying new B2B customers, starting conversations with decision makers, generating quotations and converting prospects into repeat trading accounts.

These are high-volume, repeat-purchase products that are straightforward to learn and offer excellent long-term account potential.

What You’ll Be Doing

Making outbound calls to businesses across the UK.
Identifying decision makers such as fleet managers, workshop managers, plant managers, procurement teams and business owners.
Researching prospects and building targeted contact lists.
Introducing Online Lubricants and identifying opportunities to switch supply.
Preparing and following up quotations.
Reactivating dormant customers from our extensive customer database.
Updating CRM records and managing your sales pipeline.
Working closely with our Key Account and Customer Service teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll receive a structured 12-week onboarding programme followed by ongoing coaching and product training.

Typical KPIs include:

Consistent outbound prospecting activity.
Decision-maker conversations.
Quotations generated.
Quote follow-up discipline.
New customer accounts opened.
Gross profit generated from new business.

We focus on quality conversations and profitable customer acquisition, not just call volume.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

Previous experience in sales, telesales, internal sales, customer service or another customer-facing role.
Confident telephone manner and strong communication skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Self-motivated and target-driven.
Organised with good attention to detail.
Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Desirable

Experience in B2B sales.
Knowledge of automotive, industrial, engineering or construction sectors.
Experience speaking with trade or commercial customers.
