Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and a strong commitment to food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations within a professional setting. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and exceptional service delivery.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of the head chef or senior kitchen staff
Support food safety protocols by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including peeling, chopping, and measuring items as required
Help with the organisation and storage of supplies, ensuring all ingredients are correctly labelled and stored at appropriate temperatures
Assist in serving meals to customers or guests in accordance with established procedures
Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to uphold health and safety standards
Support catering events by setting up tables, serving food, and clearing away after service
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Experience

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic culinary skills is advantageous
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a professional kitchen setting is preferred
Experience in meal preparation and food service roles will be considered an asset
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and working efficiently within a team environment is essential
