Full job description

Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer – BESS Construction Project

Location: Eggborough, GooleRate: £400 per dayDuration: Minimum 3 months, with potential for further workProject: Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Construction

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join an active BESS construction project in Eggborough.

This is a site-based role supporting the construction team with setting out, surveying, levels, measurements, quantities and accurate recording of works as the project progresses.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out setting out and surveying works across the project.
Establish and check levels, coordinates, depths and dimensions against construction drawings.
Measure and record excavation depths, formation levels, duct routes, drainage, concrete works and other civils activities.
Carry out quantity measurements and provide accurate records of completed works.
Undertake surveys and produce accurate as-built information.
Maintain clear site engineering and survey records.
Produce and/or update drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
Identify discrepancies between drawings, design information and actual site conditions.
Work closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and construction teams to ensure works are completed accurately and in accordance with the design.
Provide engineering information and measurements required to support progress and quantity verification.
Assist with resolving site engineering and dimensional issues as they arise.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Setting Out Engineer or similar, ideally on civils, infrastructure, energy or electrical construction projects.
Competent in setting out, surveying and checking levels.
Experience using appropriate surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS/GNSS and digital/automatic levels.
Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings.
Competent using AutoCAD and producing/updating as-built drawings.
Good understanding of construction tolerances, levels and dimensional control.
Able to work independently and manage engineering requirements across an active construction site.
Appropriate CSCS card/qualification for the role.
Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

Equipment

Candidates who can provide their own surveying equipment, laptop/IT equipment and relevant software are preferred. Please confirm what equipment and software you are able to provide when applying.

Contract

£400 per day

Initial requirement of 3 months minimum, with a strong possibility of further work depending on project requirements and performance.

The role is predominantly site based at our BESS construction project in Eggborough, Goole.

Pay: £400.00 per day
