External Sales Representative

BAPP Industrial Supplies Doncaster Ltd

Territory: DN9 to PE10

Job Type: Full Time

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Holidays

20 days annual leave plus statutory Bank Holidays.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused External Sales Representative to develop existing customer relationships while driving new business growth across the assigned territory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing accounts, identifying new sales opportunities, maintaining accurate customer records, and working closely with our internal sales team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships, developing new business, and making a real impact within a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
Identify, target and secure new business opportunities within the territory.
Plan and attend regular face-to-face customer visits.
Proactively contact customers by telephone, email and in person to generate sales opportunities.
Produce and follow structured call plans and customer visit schedules.
Work closely with the relevant Internal Sales Representative to maximise account growth and customer satisfaction.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring enquiries and opportunities are managed professionally from initial enquiry through to completion.
Prepare and follow up quotations, ensuring opportunities are progressed effectively.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records using the company's CRM system.
Record all customer visits, sales activity, opportunities, quotations and follow-up actions within the CRM.
Effectively manage and develop the sales pipeline to maximise conversion rates.
Identify opportunities for product cross-selling and upselling across the full BAPP product range.
Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer requirements, providing regular feedback to management.
Deliver against agreed sales, margin and new business targets.
Prepare and submit weekly activity reports and sales forecasts.
Represent BAPP professionally at all times and promote the company's values and reputation.
Work flexibly to meet the needs of both customers and the business.

Requirements Essential

Full UK Driving Licence.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Highly organised with excellent time management.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Strong IT skills and confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Reliable, proactive and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Legal right to work in the UK.

Desirable

Previous experience within the fastener, industrial supplies or engineering sector.
Previous field sales or account management experience.
Knowledge of industrial fasteners, fixings or related products.
