Job Description
Job title: Retail Electrical Manager
Department: Bristol Office
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Reports to: Retail Contracts Manager
Location: Bristol Office/Site Based
Main purpose of the role
The Electrical Manager will have responsibility for the safe, compliant and high-quality delivery of all electrical works across the department. This is a critical role combining technical assurance, supply chain leadership, and the future development of electrical delivery within the retail team.
Key tasks and responsibilities
· Develop, implement and maintain electrical policies, procedures and safe systems of work
· Oversee inspection, testing, certification protocols (EICR, minor works, installation certificates) in line with industry legislation
· Audit electrical works across sites to ensure both quality and compliance
· Act as the subject matter expert for all electrical safety matters that arise
· Support the onboarding and approval process of new subcontractors and suppliers
· Drive continuous improvement, cost control, and standardisation across the supplier base
· Lead and manage the electrical subcontractor supply chain, ensuring performance, quality and conformance by means of key performance indicators
· Review technical designs, specifications and scope of works
· Provide technical support to internal teams and senior stakeholders
· Lead investigations relating to electrical issues
· Contribute to the wider health and safety strategy and related reporting
· Work with Health & Safety on toolbox talks / site audits and ensuring all aspects of the site are carried out in line with current legislation
· To be available at programme critical times including outside of normal working hours (travel and flexibility is essential in this role, including overnight stays)
· Undertake any other duties as required for the smooth running of the business
· To carry out site surveys and inspections including assistance in validation and pricing future works
Person specification
Must have Experience:
· C&G Electrical / Technical Apprenticeship
· BS: 7671:2018 including all amendments
· C&G Electrical Test & Inspection
· Microsoft Office Suite (including intermediate level Excel)
· ECS card
· IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
· Full UK Driving licence
· Substantial experience in the role of NICEIC qualifying supervisor / principal duty holder (or equivalent)
· Competence using project related software (e.g., Procore, Lucernex, Verisae)

· First Aid at Work

· HNC level education
· Asbestos awareness

· SMSTS, SSSTS
