Full job description

G+B is an award-winning event catering company delivering exceptional food and memorable experiences at events across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and London.

From luxury weddings and private dinners to corporate events, sporting occasions and high-profile brand activations, we work with prestigious venues, clients and brands across a wide variety of events.

As G+B continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation and help shape the future of our food offering.

The Role

This is a senior and influential position for a talented chef who combines creativity and exceptional culinary standards with strong leadership, organisation and commercial awareness.

You will lead the kitchen team across menu development, tastings, preparation, production and live events, ensuring every dish reflects the quality and attention to detail for which G+B is known.

The role will also involve working closely with our restaurant kitchens, including Seventy Five at Liberty, sharing knowledge and supporting menu development, standards and collaboration across the wider business.

You will work alongside our events, operations and restaurant teams to deliver exceptional experiences from the initial brief through to the final plate.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the day-to-day operation of the G+B kitchen
Managing, developing and inspiring the permanent and freelance kitchen teams
Creating seasonal menus for weddings, private dining, corporate events and brand activations
Overseeing client tastings and ensuring menus are delivered accurately against each brief
Leading preparation, production and service across events of different sizes and styles
Maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
Managing food costings, gross profit, kitchen labour, stock and purchasing
Working with the events team on menus, logistics, equipment and event requirements
Ensuring recipes, specifications and allergen information are accurate and up to date
Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance
Supporting recruitment, training and development across the kitchen team
Collaborating with our restaurant chefs and supporting the wider G+B food offering

About You

You will have a strong and stable background in quality-led event catering, luxury hotels, banqueting, fine dining or a similar high-standard operation.

You will also have:

Experience leading and developing a professional kitchen team
Proven experience in event catering
Multi-Rosette or Michelin-level experience would be beneficial
Experience leading both kitchen preparation and live event delivery
A creative approach to seasonal menu development
Excellent food presentation skills and attention to detail
A strong understanding of food costings, gross profit and labour management
Excellent planning, administrative and organisational skills
The ability to remain calm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressure
Confidence working with clients, venues and event partners
A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service

Due to the nature of event work, you will need to be flexible and comfortable working at different locations, including some evenings and weekends. You should ideally live within practical travelling distance of Marlow and be able to travel independently, with your own transport strongly preferred.
