Job Summary

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Kitchen Porter and become an essential part of delivering exceptional dining experiences. In this lively role, you will support the kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen environment is safe, organized, and efficient. Your energy and attention to detail will help keep our culinary team running smoothly, allowing chefs to focus on creating delicious dishes that delight our guests. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, work surfaces, and dining areas to uphold high standards of hygiene.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients under supervision.
Support the kitchen team by ensuring all areas are stocked with necessary supplies and ingredients are stored correctly.
Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed to maintain a tidy workspace.
Help with dishwashing duties, including loading and unloading dishwashers and hand-washing items as needed.
Maintain safety protocols by adhering to health regulations and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
Support serving staff during busy periods by clearing tables and assisting with general hospitality tasks.

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or hotel environment is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene standards.
Previous hospitality experience demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and serving practices is a plus.
Enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and support the culinary team.
Reliable with good physical stamina for standing, lifting, and moving throughout shifts.
