The Role – Regional Manager (multi-site Retail / area manager)
This role reports to our Head of Retail and sits within our Regional Management team, who each look after a geographical area within the UK. Our Regional Managers are responsible for a store network (c 15-20 stores). Leading and inspiring, coaching and mentoring our Store Managers and Regional Support Managers to grow and develop their own teams to be the leaders of the future. Empowering them with skills in people management, financial management, customer service excellence, animal care best practice, brand and operational standards as well as legal compliance and managing KPI performance.
The South West region in Jollyes spans from Plymouth to Gloucester, South Wales to Swindon. Due to the geographical spread it is essential that the successful applicant lives within the patch to be able to readily access the stores within their region.
A full job description is available on request, but to summarise your key responsibilities:
- Managing performance against KPIs – customer / people / financial measures
- Regular store visits to each store to review performance and standards whilst engaging the teams
- Communicating key company objectives and messages to ensure the team have understood and are engaged with the mission and how they can affect and contribute to the store’s success.
- Regular reviews and feedback with your management teams, fostering a culture of high performance, recognising excellence and managing any under-performance consistently.
- Work collaboratively with support functions and services to identify opportunities and drive performance across Community Pet Clinics as well as the store network.
- Analyse and interpret data from Tableau reports on the region’s performance and translate into actionable insights, and plans for improving the region’s commercial performance.
- Ensure succession plans are in place for colleagues to see career progression opportunities and you have effective recruitment plans where you see potential gaps, or plans for new store openings.
- Create a positive working environment that results in happy and knowledgeable teams with stable retention and reduced labour turnover
- Manage health and safety, security and incident management processes effectively with full colleague awareness and compliance
The Skills – Regional Manager (multi-site Retail)
To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following skills, experience and qualities:
- A proven track record in a similar multi-site, Regional or Area operational management role within a retail business.
- Resilient leader who strives for results and has a good understanding of customer service culture
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights and actions
- Excellent influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Able to identify team strengths and make the most of them through effective coaching
- Commercial awareness of Retail including P&L management and building high performing teamsConfident presentation skills, able to hold the room’s attention delivering your key messages

- Full UK driving licence due to the requirement for travel between your stores.
