Job Summary
The Convenience Retail Store Forecourt Manager is responsible for the overall management and profitability of the convenience store and fuel forecourt. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the site by leading the store team, maintaining exceptional customer service, driving sales, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and fuel industry regulations, and delivering operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
- Manage all daily operations of the convenience retail store and fuel forecourt.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of fuel pumps, payment systems, and forecourt equipment.
- Monitor fuel inventory levels and coordinate fuel deliveries.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, merchandising, and forecourt cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with company operating procedures and service standards.
- Develop and implement operational improvement initiatives.
Leadership & People Management
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop store employees and supervisors.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Prepare staff schedules and manage labour costs effectively.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer focus.
- Manage employee engagement, attendance, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies.
Sales & Business Performance
- Achieve sales, gross profit, and operational performance targets.
- Maximize fuel, convenience retail, food-to-go, and ancillary service sales.
- Monitor key business performance indicators and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns and local marketing activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and customer experience.
Customer Service
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
- Promote customer loyalty programmes and value-added services.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement continuous improvements.
Financial Management
- Manage site budgets and operating expenses.
- Monitor daily sales, cash reconciliation, banking, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with cash handling and loss prevention procedures.
- Analyse financial reports and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
- Manage inventory levels of fuel, food, beverages, tobacco products, and general merchandise.
- Minimize stock losses through effective inventory control.
- Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of products.
- Monitor product quality, pricing accuracy, and expiry dates.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations relating to fuel storage and handling.
- Ensure safe fuel delivery procedures and emergency response readiness.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure all fire safety and emergency equipment is maintained and tested.
Security & Risk Management
- Ensure site security and monitor CCTV systems.
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and fuel drive-offs.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and customer complaints.
- Maintain accurate operational records and statutory documentation.
Administration & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial reports.
- Maintain accurate business records and regulatory documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with company and legal requirements.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position with rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
