Trainee Fire Safety Consultant

Location: Malvern (with travel to London approx 2 days / week).

Employment Type: Full Time

The Building Safety Consultancy Ltd is a small, dynamic consultancy with a growing workload. We’re currently a team of six, and we’re looking for a dedicated, adaptable individual to join us as a Trainee Fire Safety and Health and Safety Consultant.

We specialise in fire safety within the built environment and also work across asbestos, water hygiene, construction safety, and general health and safety. This is an exciting opportunity to receive hands-on training while contributing to important safety-focused work.

KEY AREAS YOU’LL BE TRAINED IN

You will receive structured training and development through recognised independent organisations such as the Fire Protection Association (FPA) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), as well as ongoing in-house mentoring. The training will prepare you to carry out a range of safety-related tasks, including:

Fire Risk Assessments
Fire Door Inspections
Compartmentation Surveys
Asbestos Surveys

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll assist with site surveys, particularly in London (typically 2 days per week – all travel expenses covered).
The remainder of your time will be spent producing technical reports and liaising with clients and industry professionals.
You’ll receive full support and training, with the goal of progressing to carry out work independently and growing within the company.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Strong written communication skills with excellent grammar for producing technical reports.
Flexibility with working hours, including early starts for travel into London.
Organised, self-disciplined, and able to manage your own workload.
Confident communicator, comfortable coordinating with professionals across different organisations.
