Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Cook to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, maintain high standards of food safety, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality sector while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Duties

Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Assist in food preparation, including assembling sandwiches, salads, and other menu items in accordance with health and safety standards.
Serve customers efficiently at the counter or via table service, providing friendly and attentive assistance.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and dining spaces in compliance with food safety regulations.
Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold food hygiene standards.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure excellent customer experience.

Requirements

Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing role is desirable.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Basic maths skills for processing transactions accurately.
Proven ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour towards customers and colleagues.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of service.
Flexibility to work shifts including mornings, afternoons. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to grow their skills within a supportive team environment while delivering outstanding service to our valued customers.
