Position Summary
Eaton is seeking a Senior Systems Architect – IT Module to join the Data Center Architecture Team .
This senior technical leadership role will define and drive the architecture of the data center IT Module (white space) , including high-density power distribution, cooling integration, rack infrastructure, modular deployment strategies, and pod-level system design. The position serves as the primary systems integrator across white space components, ensuring scalable, repeatable, and optimized designs that enable rapid deployment of compute capacity for hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and next-generation AI data centers.
As a key member of the Data Center Architecture Team, you will help develop end-to-end reference architectures and collaborate directly with customers to shape future data center solutions.
Be knowledgeable of current trends and innovate the market.
Identify and build positive relationships with all account decision-makers and influencers who impact current or future business with Eaton.
Gain an in-depth understanding of the client development and buying process and be able to articulate it effectively.
Perform VoC by understanding and capturing clients' challenges and requirements and resolve them by co-designing to help evolving Eaton's portfolio.
Ensure an effective handover to Global Product Lines and Business Units so that they develop the right portfolio to respond to large customers’ requirements. Support the application engineers in charge of key accounts in implementing your designs for specific customers.
Maintain oversight of all advanced engineering-related engagements to ensure customer success and satisfaction, as well as Eaton's performance as a vendor.
Be highly knowledgeable about the client's business, commercial condition, structure, strategy, operations, and challenges. Articulate this knowledge in terms of opportunity, growth, and risk with respect to Eaton's business.

Act as an effective advocate and communicator of the benefits of supporting your proposed architecture within the Eaton organization.

Collaborate effectively with other sales and stakeholders at the function, country, region, and global levels. Provide and gain support so others can meet their responsibilities to the account.
Provide all internal stakeholders and functional departments with the account-specific guidance and insights required to execute their roles and add value to the client.
Build a multi-lane bridge between Eaton and the client organization. This may include GPL leaders, Engineering leaders, Product line managers, BU Engineers, BDM, Marketing, PMO, Services, Sales Operations & Order Management, Supply Chain, Leadership & Executive Management.
Work with the Segment Marketing team to create white papers and other technical material to promote our designs and value proposition.
Leadership & experience: 15+ years in critical power system design and electrical distribution engineering (advanced degree strongly preferred).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognized qualification
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in the data center business across core domains of whitespace, cooling, power, fiber, controls, and rack systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in engineering or technical discipline
Has led multiple complex programs delivering medium- and low-voltage power architectures for large data centers or similar mission-critical facilities, spanning from medium-voltage (e.g. 15–35 kV) substation design to high-current low-voltage and ~1500 V direct-current systems. Experience includes end-to-end oversight from conceptual architecture through deployment, with a record of on-time, reliable power system commissioning at multi-megawatt scale.
Technical expertise: Expert in power conversion architectures for data centers, including MV AC distribution, LV AC, and high-voltage DC networks. Mastery of protective coordination, converter and switchgear integration, busway and panelboard systems, large-scale UPS and energy storage, and DC power protection schemes. Keeps abreast of emerging 380 800 V DC standards and cutting-edge power electronics (e.g. new 800 VDC components) and is a recognized innovator (patents or contributions to industry standards such as OCP open DC architectures or IEC committees on data center power).
Systems & architecture skills: Thinks at system level beyond the white space – ensures the IT Module design aligns with upstream power (Block 2) and facility cooling systems (Block 4) for a cohesive data center architecture. Provides direction across multiple product and engineering teams (racks, busbars, cooling, monitoring, etc.) to develop standardized, integrated solutions. Mentors multi-disciplinary engineers and champions a shift from traditional, labor-intensive buildouts to automated, modular deployment approaches that improve speed-to-market and reliability.
Leadership & communication: Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proactive leadership and initiative, with experience guiding cross-functional teams or projects. Demonstrated mentoring ability and influence in a matrixed organization, helping train and direct other engineers.
Customer focus: Strong customer engagement skills – experience interacting with enterprise or hyperscale data center customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that address their challenges. Ability to incorporate Voice of Customer feedback into technical designs and roadmaps.
Technical knowledge in data centers design and construction, specifically POD-level architecture and modular design, high-density compute environments (AI/ML workloads) and/or liquid cooling architectures
Project Management Experience: Experience with Product Design or Product Management with a working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
Specialized Industry Knowledge: Ability to create customized data center physical layer solutions tailored to various data center subsegments, including (but not limited to) Hyperscale, liquid cooling, and the modular edge
DMAIC experience for process improvement and drive for excellence
Experience delivering POD-level architecture and modular design
High-density compute environments (AI/ML workloads) and cross-domain system integration (cooling, power, structural)
Proven ability to author whitepapers and thought leadership and lead system-level design trade-off discussions
To perform effectively, the individual shall maintain sufficient market and competitor intelligence, understand client and market primary trends and requirements and how competition addresses them and how Eaton uniquely and preferentially meets them
Highly proficient at consultative selling and at communicating Eaton's differentiated value at company, product, and service levels. Additionally, function in a research and development function
