Location: Cambridge, CB1 9NJ
Pay: £15.68 per hour
Hours: 42 hours per week on a 4 on, 4 off schedule, primarily covering night shifts. Opportunity to move to a rotating shift pattern of 4 nights on, 4 off, followed by 4 day shifts on, 4 off

As a SOC Operator, you will play a vital role within our Security Operations Centre, ensuring the seamless delivery of services in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will be responsible for monitoring and prioritising alarm activations, coordinating dispatch and response activities, handling emergency calls, and delivering exceptional support to both internal and external customers️
As a SOC Operator, you will be part of a professional and collaborative team, you will manage a variety of security and operational processes, ensuring all systems and databases remain accurate and up to date. You'll also provide first-line technical support, liaise with third-party contractors and customers, and respond efficiently to requests while maintaining compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

Job Description
Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Efficiently manage and prioritise alarm activations across various platforms, adhering to NSI accreditation and customer-specific procedures

Handle emergency calls out of hours for customers and other business areas as required

Manage and escalate book-on calls, check calls, duress calls and mobile alarm call-outs according to company SOPs. Respond to all customer requests for system configuration changes

Answer telephones promptly and courteously within set service levels, assisting internal and external customers, including liaising with third parties and contractors as required

Ensure regular camera checks are completed accurately, maintaining vigilance with regards to CCTV

Ensure effective and accurate receipt, dispatch and delivery of service requests in line with customer expectations

Adhere to relevant customer procedures and accurately record and dispatch alarm activations

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:

Basic security experience

Experience in access control and CCTV is desirable but not essential

Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends

The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history

Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken
