Hours: Full Time or Part Time Considered + Extended Access: 1st Saturday every month

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our busy nursing team at Cranbrook Medical Practice. We are looking for a dynamic, qualified Nurse, preferably with Practice Nursing experience.

We are open to full or part time hours to be worked during the week, alongside extended access required on the first Saturday of each month (paid at enhanced rate). The successful candidate should be able to work well within a team consisting of a range of different clinicians and should have the skills to be able to work autonomously to provide the required care for each individual patient.

Main Duties of the Role

· Manage chronic diseases, including diagnosis, monitoring, and individual care planning

· Identify and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions

· Assess lifestyle and medications, recommending changes where appropriate

· General Treatment Room Duties

· Cervical cytology and women’s health, including family planning

· Childhood, adult, and travel vaccinations

· Phlebotomy

· Wound care, suture removal, and dressings

· Doppler studies

· Ensuring accurate documentation and high standards of patient care

· Contributing to QOF, audits, and improvement projects

· Maintaining NMC registration and professional revalidation

We currently care for just over 6,500 patients, with our list continuing to grow as Cranbrook develops. Our patient demographic is predominantly younger, with many young families and working-age adults choosing to make Cranbrook their home. This provides a rewarding and varied workload, with a strong emphasis on preventative healthcare, women's health, childhood immunisations, health promotion and the early identification and management of long-term conditions.

As our practice continues to expand, there are excellent opportunities for professional development, service innovation and the chance to develop specialist clinical interests within primary care.

Our multidisciplinary team includes experienced GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, a First Contact Physiotherapist and a dedicated administrative team, all working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. We pride ourselves on being a supportive, approachable team where everyone is valued and encouraged to contribute to the ongoing development of the practice.

Essential Criteria

· Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council)

· Experience of working autonomously in a primary care environment

· Experience of infection prevention and control measures

· Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

Desirable Criteria

· Independent Nurse Prescriber Qualification

· Knowledge of SystmOne advantageous

Pay listed is approximate and may vary depending on experience and qualifications
