About Exacta
Exacta Technologies is a dynamic and rapidly growing OEM server hardware business that is quickly making a name for itself in the computer hardware industry. We design and build bespoke servers and network appliances, working with the latest technology from leading suppliers such as Intel, AMD, ASUS, Nvidia, and MSI. We have a broad customer base, with products in the CCTV, cybersecurity, data analytics, network emulation, and financial trading sectors, among others. We work with a wide range of hardware, from network appliances and traditional rackmount servers to multi-GPU and overclocked servers. Every day is different and brings new challenges.
The Role
As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our production team as a Test & Configuration Engineer. You will have a keen interest in IT and computing and be determined to build a career for yourself.
We are recruiting at trainee level. You will receive structured training and support, and will progress into the full Test & Configuration Engineer role on successful completion of your probationary period, once you have gained the necessary skills, training, and experience.
Working as part of the production team, you will test, configure, and prepare computers, servers, and network appliances for delivery. You will run diagnostics, install and configure operating systems and software, apply firmware and updates, complete Pre-Delivery Inspection documentation, and diagnose and repair returned units. Test & Configuration Engineers are key members of the production team, helping Exacta deliver quality products to a varied and growing customer base. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a fast-growing business.
Key Responsibilities
· Testing and configuration: running hardware diagnostics, updating firmware including BIOS, FRU, and SDR, and installing and configuring operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and customer-specific builds.

· Customer interaction: communicating with customers, where needed, to resolve software-related issues.
· Administration: recording manufacturing order routings and maintaining detailed testing and configuration records.
· Work environment and safety: following ESD procedures and keeping a clean, safe, and organised work area.
