Full job description

CB&I is seeking a Structural Designer 2 - Contractor for 6 months based in Aberdeen, UK.

The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.

The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.

Scope of Services:

Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
Provide technical information to support estimates for project work scopes
Provide input to progress and planning meetings as required
Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
Produce structural design drawings / 3d models etc
Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews / HAZIDS
Provide checking and approval of structural drawings, complete interdisciplinary checking of documents where necessary.
Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical project issues
Provide a level of technical support that satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that the PFEER performance standards ensuring they are not compromised by any discipline engineering activities
Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
provides technical assurance and oversight on structural design scope
coordinates structual design resource in line with project requirement

Structural destruct drawings
Installation methodology drawings / documents
Rigging drawings
Survey reports
Construction workpack input
Weight control reports
Presentations sketches etc. to assist in scope communications

Skills/ experience

Computer literate in Microsoft office applications and relevant discipline specific software

o AutoCAD 2D & 3D

o PDMS

o LFM

o Recap Pro

o Simulate)

Ability to investigate and interpret data
willing to travel offshore/site and capable of completing site surveys
Brownfield Project Experience desirable.
Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be preferable but not essential

Suitable design experience within other engineering industries will be considered where appropriate
