Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The ideal candidate will support the smooth running of the kitchen by ensuring cleanliness and organisation, allowing chefs and kitchen staff to focus on food preparation and service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the hospitality industry, particularly those with an interest in culinary arts, restaurant, or hotel environments.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
Support the kitchen team by washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently to maintain a clean workspace.
Ensure all kitchen equipment and surfaces are kept hygienic and sanitised in accordance with health and safety standards.
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to maintain a tidy environment.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
Assist with organising storage areas to keep ingredients and equipment easily accessible.
Support the team during busy periods by performing general cleaning duties around the kitchen area.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of restaurant or hotel environments is desirable.
Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and hospitality operations.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary. This role provides valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting, supporting career development in culinary or hospitality fields while contributing to a welcoming guest experience.
