As a Paralegal within the Legal, Compliance and Data Protection Team, you will support the legal, compliance and regulatory activities of E.ON’s Independent Distribution Network Operator (“IDNO”) business, including delivery of land rights transactions. The role involves working closely with the IDNO Compliance Officer and relevant stakeholders.

The role will focus on progressing land rights matters, including easements, transfers, leases and licences, from instruction through to completion, while also supporting wider legal, regulatory, audit and governance activities through accurate document, data and record management.

This role is responsible for:

Case Handling & Matter Management

Support the progression land rights matters (including leases, transfers, deeds of easement and licences) from instruction through to completion, working with appropriate supervision and escalation where required
Act as a key coordinator for each matter, ensuring timely progression in line with programme and customer requirements
Liaise with and instruct external legal counsel within agreed scope and authority limits, including preparing clear instructions, collating documentation, and coordinating responses to ensure efficient progress of legal work, escalating matters outside agreed scope to the IDNO Compliance Officer
Support the progression of more complex land arrangements under appropriate supervision (e.g. multi-party agreements, title constraints, incorporated rights structures), escalating legal or technical issues as required.
Monitor progress across active cases, proactively identifying risks, delays, or issues and escalating as appropriate
Maintain and update internal trackers, reporting tools and legal management systems, ensuring accurate and auditable records are kept at all times
Assist in the preparation of reports, evidence and supporting information for regulatory submissions, audits and internal governance processes.

Essential

Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role (in-house or private practice)

Legal qualification, or working towards a relevant legal qualification, with practical experience in a legal assistant, paralegal or similar support role
Ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload, progress matters to deadlines and escalate issues appropriately
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation and liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders
High level of attention to detail and analytical ability when reviewing documents, information and records
Strong organisational skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and case management or tracking tools

Desirable

Experience in land rights, commercial property, infrastructure, utilities or another regulated sector
Familiarity with land law, property transactions, HM Land Registry processes or title document review
Experience drafting, reviewing or amending standard form legal documentation, including easements, leases, licences or NDAs
