A Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification) is an essential requirement for this role.
Unfortunately, applications from candidates who do not hold this qualification cannot be considered.
About the Role
Working within our Ofsted-regulated children's home, you will provide high-quality care and support to young people with emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to feel safe, develop confidence and reach their full potential.
No two days are the same. This is a rewarding and meaningful role where you will play a vital part in helping young people overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
Your Responsibilities
- Support young people with their daily routines, education, appointments and activities
- Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with children and young people
- Provide emotional support, guidance and encouragement
- Promote independence, life skills and personal development
- Act as a Keyworker and contribute to care planning and reviews
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
- Support the day-to-day running of the home
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers and other professionals
- Help create a safe, nurturing and stable environment where young people can thrive
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – this qualification is mandatory
- Aged 21 years or over
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
- Positive, caring and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a children's residential setting
- Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs
- Understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice
