Are you a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑volume warehouse environment? Do you enjoy getting the best out of your team, driving performance on the ground, and keeping things safe, accurate and efficient? If you’re proactive, people‑focused and ready to take ownership of a busy operational shift, this could be the role for you!

Here at GXO Logistics, we’re looking for four Warehouse First Line Managers to join our new retail operation in Northampton. This is a purpose‑designed, dedicated site servicing over 250+ stores, where speed, accuracy and service are critical—and where you’ll play a key role in delivering shift performance across a high‑volume, MHE‑heavy environment. Working as part of the operational leadership team, you’ll lead, coach and develop a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring products are processed, picked and despatched efficiently, accurately and safely to meet customer requirements.

This is a full‑time, permanent position working on a rotating shift pattern (14:00 – 22:00 / Sunday–Thursday & Monday–Friday). Flexibility will be required to support a 24/7 operation when needed, this is logistics after all!

Pay, benefits and more:

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £33,850 per annum, plus an additional shift allowance of £2,500 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:

Lead, coach and develop your team to deliver safe, accurate and efficient shift performance across inbound and outbound operations
Ensure all warehouse activity is completed to the required standards, supporting high‑volume case picking into cages
Monitor and drive performance against KPIs, taking action to manage productivity, quality and service levels
Support and enforce Health & Safety, compliance and standard operating procedures across your shift
Work closely with planning, systems and wider operational teams to resolve issues, support continuous improvement and keep the operation flowing

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leadership role, ideally within a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
Strong leadership style with the ability to coach, motivate and engage a team
Good understanding of warehouse processes, MHE operations and quality standards
Confident communicator who can manage stakeholders and maintain high standards under pressure
Digitally minded with experience using warehouse management systems and reporting tools
A proactive, adaptable approach with a strong focus on safety, accuracy and delivery
