Full job description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a proactive, resilient, and highly organised Internal Recruiter to join our growing team. As a national provider of children's residential homes across the UK, recruiting the right people is fundamental to delivering safe, high-quality care.

The successful candidate will have experience recruiting within regulated health and social care environments and possess a strong understanding of compliance requirements relating to Ofsted and/or CQC regulated services. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple vacancies simultaneously while maintaining exceptional candidate experience and ensuring robust safer recruitment practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Talent Acquisition

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from vacancy approval through to offer and onboarding.
Recruit for a variety of positions across children's residential homes, supported accommodation, education, therapeutic services and head office functions.
Develop engaging job adverts that attract high-quality candidates.
Source candidates using multiple channels including job boards, social media, networking, referrals and direct search.
Conduct telephone and video interviews to assess candidate suitability.
Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and provide recruitment guidance throughout the hiring process.
Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for priority and hard-to-fill roles.
Monitor recruitment metrics including time-to-hire, cost-per-hire and vacancy status.

Compliance & Safer Recruitment

Ensure all recruitment activity complies with safer recruitment legislation and organisational policies.
Maintain excellent knowledge of Ofsted and CQC recruitment requirements.
Ensure recruitment files meet regulatory standards.
Coordinate pre-employment checks including:
Enhanced DBS checks
Right to Work verification
Employment references
Employment history verification
Qualification checks
Professional registrations where applicable
Ensure all onboarding documentation is completed accurately before employment commences.
Support managers during Ofsted and CQC inspections by ensuring recruitment records are inspection-ready.

Stakeholder Management

Develop strong working relationships with Registered Managers, Responsible Individuals, Operational Managers and Directors.
Provide expert recruitment advice to hiring managers.
Challenge recruitment decisions where safer recruitment or compliance standards are not met.
Work collaboratively with HR and Compliance teams to ensure seamless onboarding.

Employer Branding

Promote the organisation as an employer of choice.
Support recruitment campaigns across digital platforms.
Attend recruitment fairs, careers events and networking opportunities where required.
Develop innovative attraction strategies to support business growth across the UK.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and efficiency.
Keep up to date with employment legislation and best practice in recruitment.
Monitor recruitment trends within the health and social care sector.
Contribute to workforce planning initiatives to support organisational expansion.

Person SpecificationEssential Experience

Previous experience in an internal recruitment or talent acquisition role.
Experience recruiting within health and social care, children's residential care or other regulated services.
Strong understanding of safer recruitment principles.
Knowledge of Ofsted and/or CQC compliance requirements.
Experience managing high-volume recruitment across multiple locations.
Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment databases.

Desirable

CIPD Level 3 or equivalent HR qualification.
Recruitment qualification (REC or similar).
Experience recruiting Registered Managers and Residential Support Workers.
Knowledge of children's social care legislation.
Experience supporting mobilisation of new services or large-scale recruitment campaigns.
