Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and organised Weighbridge Operator to join our busy Quarry and Farm operation. This is a key customer-facing and administrative role, ensuring the smooth operation of the weighbridge while supporting the day-to-day running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the weighbridge accurately for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Record and process deliveries, collections, and sales using the weighbridge system.
Produce delivery tickets and related documentation.
Greet and assist customers, suppliers, contractors, and haulage drivers in a professional manner.
Answer telephone calls and respond to customer enquiries.
Liaise with quarry, farm, and transport staff to coordinate vehicle movements.
Maintain accurate records and complete daily reports.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety regulations, and site rules.
Carry out general administrative duties as required.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

Have excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Be confident using computers and Microsoft Office (experience with weighbridge software is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided).
Have strong communication and customer service skills.
Be able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Previous experience in a quarry, agricultural, logistics, or transport environment would be an advantage but is not essential.

Hours are Monday to Friday 08.00 to 17.00 winter, and 07.30 to 18.00 summer. Saturdays are worked on a rota basis from 08.00 to 13.00. During busy harvest periods you may be required to work some evenings on a rota system.
