Business Development Manager – Hazardous Waste Management

Location: UK (National Role)
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission + Company Car/Car Allowance + Pension + Laptop + Mobile Phone

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our growing hazardous waste division.

This is a national field-based role focused on identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across the UK. You'll be responsible for building long-term relationships with industrial, commercial and public sector clients requiring compliant hazardous waste collection, treatment and disposal solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established sales professional with experience in the hazardous waste sector who understands both the commercial and technical aspects of selling compliant waste management services.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and secure new hazardous waste management contracts across the UK.
Develop relationships with manufacturers, engineering companies, facilities management providers, construction businesses, utilities, healthcare organisations, laboratories and public sector clients.
Generate new business through prospecting, networking and strategic account development.
Conduct site visits to understand customer requirements and identify waste streams.
Prepare competitive quotations and tender submissions.
Negotiate commercial agreements and service contracts.
Source the most appropriate treatment and disposal routes using an established network of licensed waste facilities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with treatment, disposal and logistics partners.
Coordinate collections and ensure services are delivered in line with customer expectations and legislative requirements.
Maintain an active sales pipeline using CRM systems.
Achieve agreed sales and gross profit targets.
Keep up to date with changes in waste legislation and industry best practice.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Proven track record of selling hazardous waste management services.
Strong understanding of hazardous waste legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience of selling collection, treatment and disposal solutions.
Demonstrable ability to generate new business and win contracts.
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

Existing network of contacts within the hazardous waste industry.
Established relationships with hazardous waste treatment and disposal facilities across the UK.
Experience selling to industrial, manufacturing, construction, utilities or public sector organisations.
Knowledge of ADR regulations and hazardous waste classification.
Experience of framework agreements and tender submissions.
