Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Learning Support Mentor to join our Supported Learning team at our Cambridge Campus.

You will join us on a part time (30 hours), term time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between £21,918 - £23,362 per annum, equivalent to a full time, full year salary of £31,110 - £33,160 per annum, plus staff benefits.

About the role:

You will provide effective teaching, support and study development primarily for study programme students with learning needs via drop in or pre booked sessions in either small groups or 1-1 sessions.

You will be responsible for developing student’s independent learning skills, abilities and literacy/numeracy on a range of programmes. It is therefore essential that you hold a teaching qualification, minimum Level 4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) or equivalent.

We are ideally looking for applicants who have knowledge of the impact of neurodiversity on learning and language development, social skills, mobility and access to the curriculum. You will require a good understanding of learning processes and barriers to learning.

What we are looking for in our role:

You must also be qualified to GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths and have experience of working with people with supportive learning needs, ideally within a Further Education establishment. You must have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a range of students on courses from entry level to level 3.
