The City of Doncaster Council is a confident, ambitious organisation which puts improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. You have an opportunity to be part of this in the role of an Apprentice Highway Network Management Technician.
We are currently seeking two Apprentice Highway Network Management Technicians (Level 4) to join our Highways Network Management Teams, based at the Civic Office in Doncaster.
As part of our structured Apprenticeship Programme, you will rotate across several specialist teams to gain a broad understanding of how Doncaster’s highway network is managed and maintained. These teams include:
-
Highway Enforcement
- Network Co-ordination
- Public Rights of Way (PROW)
- Streetworks Compliance
- Road Safety
You will gain hands-on experience, develop technical and professional skills, and learn how highways services support safe, efficient travel across the borough.
During the apprenticeship, you will work towards achieving the Level 4 regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship, alongside completing other mandatory training requirements.
The overall duration of the apprenticeship will depend on your prior qualifications and experience, however this is likely to be a two-year apprenticeship. Applicants must meet the entry requirements of the apprenticeship and be capable of successfully completing the full apprenticeship standard. We will accept predicted grades if you are currently studying to a level 3 standard.
The ideal candidate will be solutions and results focused, enjoy engagement with internal and external partners, a strong team player and have the enthusiasm in building a career in highways or regulatory compliance.
If you are looking to make a real impact in the local community while gaining a nationally recognised Level 4 Regulatory Compliance qualification, this apprenticeship could be the ideal next step for you.
In return for your contribution, we offer:
-
Competitive leave entitlement
- Generous local government pension scheme
