Job Overview

We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated Gym Assistant to join our team at Snap Fitness Ashford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering outstanding customer service whilst working in a modern 24/7 gym.

As the face of the club, you'll play a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for every member who walks through our doors.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the club while delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high presentation standards and helping grow our membership community.

No two days are the same. One moment you'll be welcoming members, the next you'll be conducting a club tour, helping with member enquiries, supporting sales activity or ensuring the club looks its very best.

What You'll Be Doing

Member Experience

Deliver exceptional customer service to every member and visitor.
Welcome members with a friendly and professional attitude.
Build positive relationships with members.
Resolve member enquiries efficiently.
Escalate issues when required.
Create a welcoming, inclusive club atmosphere.

Membership Sales

Conduct club tours for prospective members.
Promote memberships, personal training and club services.
Generate new membership leads.
Follow up enquiries using company systems.
Support membership retention initiatives.
Promote referral programmes and member campaigns.

Reception & Administration

Answer telephone and email enquiries professionally.
Process memberships, freezes, transfers and cancellations.
Maintain accurate member records.
Manage bookings, appointments and inductions.
Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Use company systems efficiently.

Club Presentation

Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout the club.
Complete daily cleaning and presentation checks.
Keep reception and communal areas tidy.
Ensure marketing displays remain up to date.
Report maintenance issues promptly.

Health & Safety

Follow all Health & Safety procedures.
Report hazards, accidents and near misses.
Support compliance audits.
Participate in mandatory training.
Help maintain a safe environment for members and colleagues.

Marketing & Community Engagement

Support local marketing campaigns.
Attend community events where required.
Help promote club offers and events.
Assist with open days and membership drives.

Club Operations

Support the smooth day-to-day running of the gym.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Support club events and member engagement activities.
Monitor standards throughout every shift.
Work closely with the management team to achieve club targets.

What We're Looking For

Can work independently and use their initiative.
Is reliable, organised and punctual.
Has strong communication skills.
Enjoys working as part of a team.
Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Is comfortable using computer systems and learning new software.

Previous experience in a gym, leisure or customer service environment is desirable but not essential. We'll provide full training for the right person.

Desirable Qualifications

Level 2 Gym Instructor (desirable but not essential)
Emergency First Aid at Work (desirable)
Customer service experience
Sales experience (advantageous)
