Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Web Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development, with experience in a variety of frameworks, databases, and tools. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from developing responsive websites to integrating complex web services, ensuring optimal performance and user experience across multiple platforms. A passion for emerging technologies and a keen eye for detail are essential to succeed in this position.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, Django, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, and Node.js.
Implement responsive web design principles to ensure seamless user experiences across devices using HTML, CSS, SCSS, Bootstrap, and UI/UX best practices.
Develop and optimise APIs and web services employing REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and other protocols.
Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, SQLite, and utilise SQL for data manipulation and optimisation.
Utilise version control systems such as Git and SVN; automate deployment processes with Jenkins and Ansible within DevOps environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Trello or Jira for project management; participate in SDLC processes including unit testing and code reviews.
Integrate third-party services like WordPress, Drupal, and optimise websites for SEO.
Develop wireframes and prototypes to support web design initiatives; contribute to system architecture planning.
Maintain knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure; deploy applications on Tomcat or similar servers.
Ensure website security standards are met; implement data visualisation tools like D3.js or Chart.js for analytics dashboards.
Stay current with industry trends in front-end development, web design, responsive design techniques, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in front-end development with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular; proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS.
Strong back-end development skills using languages like Python (Django), PHP (WordPress), Ruby on Rails or C# (.NET).
Extensive knowledge of databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB; ability to write complex SQL queries.
Familiarity with version control systems (Git/GitHub), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and containerisation tools like Docker.
Experience working within Agile environments using Jira or Trello; understanding of SDLC processes including unit testing.
Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or Azure; deployment experience on Linux-based servers or Tomcat is advantageous.
Ability to develop responsive websites that adhere to best practices in UX/UI design; understanding of SEO principles is desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills with excellent organisational abilities; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
