Job Overview

The Peachtree is a well-established and busy venue in Shrewsbury, known for delivering high-quality food and excellent service.

We are seeking a talented and driven Head Chef to lead our culinary team and deliver exceptional dining experiences. A Chef who thrives in fast-paced environments and can take full responsibility for kitchen operations, overseeing food preparation and ensuring high standards of food safety. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, organisation, and creativity. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional with a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts to contribute to our vibrant establishment.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
Manage food production processes, maintaining quality and consistency across all menu items
Oversee food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation
Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment
Assist in menu planning and development to keep offerings innovative and appealing
Train new team members in food preparation techniques, safety standards, and customer service

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting, demonstrating excellent service skills including serving customers when needed
Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable to the hospitality industry
Familiarity with kitchen equipment, culinary techniques, and menu development
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant roles that showcase organisational skills and attention to detail
