About Us

City Building provides a range of repairs and maintenance, manufacturing, construction and refurbishment activities for Glasgow City Council and Wheatley Housing Group’s citizens and customers as well as other public, private and third sector organisations. City Building operates both the largest construction craft apprenticeship programme in Scotland, and Royal Strathclyde Blindcraft Industries (RSBi), one of the largest supported manufacturing businesses in Europe, around 200 people, more than 50% of whom have a disability. About the Role

We're investing in the future of our People Services function and are looking for a skilled HR Advisor to deliver professional, customer-focused HR support across the employee lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to support key People Services activities, including recruitment and onboarding, employee lifecycle administration, employee relations, attendance management, payroll administration, and maintaining HR systems and employee records. You will work closely with key stakeholders providing practical and operational HR support while ensuring compliance with organisational policies, employment legislation, and service standards. The post holder will support service improvement, organisational change and the delivery of an effective and positive employee experience.

What You Will Bring

The HR Advisor will be an experienced HR professional with a strong understanding of employee lifecycle administration and employee relations processes within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be experienced in providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, using strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to support a responsive and evolving People Services function. You will be highly organised and adept at managing a busy employee relations caseload, prioritising workload effectively while ensuring all matters are handled consistently, confidentially, and in line with relevant legislation. The post holder should hold a CIPD Level 3 qualification, be working towards Level 5, or have equivalent relevant experience.
