Responsibilities:

Walker Morris is looking for an Associate to join our Commercial Disputes Resolution team.

As part of one of the largest and most successful Litigation and Dispute Resolution teams outside London, you'll work on a broad range of complex commercial disputes for UK and international clients.

Based in Leeds, our team acts on high-value domestic and cross-border matters for global businesses, entrepreneurs and major organisations. You'll play a key role in helping clients navigate complex disputes, working alongside experienced colleagues on matters that are often business-critical.

What you'll be doing:

Working as part of partner led teams and having the opportunity to lead your own appropriate cases, advising clients across of broad range of commercial business matters.
Gaining experience and knowledge working for major clients operating in key sectors of banking and alternative lending, real estate development, energy waste and infrastructure, food and drink, complex high value machinery, private equity and retail and leisure.
Working in specialist areas as well as general disputes practice and encouraged to develop your own specialism that excites you, whether that be in reputation management, public procurement, protection of confidential information, fraud and asset tracing, pensions disputes or a range of other specialist areas.
Building close collaborative working relationships with your own team and with a network across the wider firm
Dealing with advisory work (dispute avoidance, pre-disputes assessments) as well as experiencing the full range of formal disputes work covering litigation, arbitration, expert determination, adjudication and mediation.

What we are looking for:

Strong commercial litigation and disputes experience.
Ideally 1-4 years' PQE
Experience handling complex commercial disputes.
Strong technical, drafting and analytical skills.
A commercial and client-focused approach.
Ambitious, collaborative and keen to progress.

What we offer:

Earn up to 35% bonus with our annual bonus scheme – our chargeable hours target is 1350!
Paid sabbatical scheme where you can accrue up to 4 weeks’ paid sabbatical over a 3-year period.
Minimum of 25 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays per year, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to five days per year.
Hybrid working with a minimum of 50% of your time spent in the office.
Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we’ll contribute a minimum of 5% of your salary.
4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
Access to BUPA with no excess or compulsory payments.
