Full job description

Job Summary

We are recruiting for an Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant within our busy practice. This is an office-based role, part-time 20-25 hours per week, but would be full-time if candidates are able to fill our Payroll Administrator role being advertised as well.

Ideally you will have experience working in an accountancy practice in a previous similar role.

You will possess good experience of Sage & Xero accounting software, with Quickbooks knowledge an advantage.

Your duties will include:

· Bookkeeping duties for our clients

· VAT return preparation and filing

· Posting purchase & sales invoices to the accounting system

· Bank postings and reconciliations

· Posting payroll journals

· Reconciliation of supplier statements

· Maintaining the accuracy of the debtors & creditors ledgers

· Maintaining the accuracy of the Fixed Asset Registers

· Completing month end procedures on the accounts software

· Login to clients own accounting software, complete their bookkeeping, VAT Returns & month end procedures

· Preparing payment runs on behalf of clients

· Nominal & balance sheet reconciliation

· Preparing management accounts, updating budgets & liaising with clients on variances

· Ensuring that all deadlines are met

. Quarterly MTD preparation & transmission

You will provide support to clients via telephone & email etc and ensure financial reports and data are accurate, and support the management team.

Monday - Friday between 8:30am - 5:00pm
