Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Workshop Manager to oversee daily operations within our workshop environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently. The Workshop Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of workshop activities, adhering to deadlines, and fostering a productive work environment.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of workshop staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Plan and schedule maintenance, repairs, and production tasks to meet project deadlines.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
Oversee the utilisation of hand tools and power tools, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
Monitor inventory levels of materials and tools, placing orders as necessary to prevent delays.
Conduct quality checks on completed work to uphold company standards.
Provide training and guidance to team members on technical procedures and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and staff attendance.
Liaise with clients or suppliers as required to coordinate project requirements or procurement.

Requirements

Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with team members, clients, and suppliers.
Ability to lead by example, motivate staff, and foster a positive team environment.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to workshop operations.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in engineering, mechanics, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
