Job Purpose:
An outstanding opportunity for an experienced and highly-motivated Financial Controller.
The role will be responsible for all financial activities within the company and the further development of local business systems, together with business partnering with the wider leadership team and Lucy Group finance teams.

Blakley Electrics is a UK manufacturer specialising in high performance power distribution, protection, transformer and lighting products, supplying sectors including construction, industrial, rail, nuclear and events. The company has operated for over 65 years and manufactures in house to ISO9001:2015 standards.
Job Context:
Financial Control and Records:

Responsibility for effective financial control systems, processes and procedures

Responsibility for maintenance of financial records.

Responsibility for all areas of the year-end audit

Financial oversight and auditing of perpetual inventory counting
Cash management
Financial Reporting:

Responsibility for financial reporting to local business management.

Responsibility for company reporting to Group.

Responsibility for company tax pack reporting to Group.

Responsibility for company statutory accounts

Development of management reporting
Financial Planning:

Responsibility for quarterly forecasts.

Cash management and preparation of cash flow forecasts

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

Working in a deadline orientated financial organisation.

Ability to create and use financial models for development and analysis of the business.

Fully qualified accountant or finalist (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).

Recognised accountancy body

Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels

Responsibilities:
1) Business Planning: Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans; forecast performance against business key performance indicators (KPIs); develop business cases for key activities/projects; and estimate the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets.
2) Financial Management and Control: Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of the financial management and/or control process.
3) Insights and Reporting: Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
4) Information and Business Advice: Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
5) Recommendations: Advise others on how to design new processes and systems that meet professional standards.
6) Internal Client Relationship Management: Contribute to the management of partnering relationships with internal clients, building effective working relationships and providing high-quality professional services to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
7) Stakeholder Engagement: Contribute to stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders; by finding out their needs, issues, and concerns; and by reacting to these needs, issues, and concerns, arranging meetings and events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment.
8) Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols: Develop and deliver financial guidelines and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
9) Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
10) Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level
General Experience Requirement: Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others (Over 3 years to 6 years)
Managerial Experience Requirement: Experience of general supervision of more junior colleagues (7 to 12 months)
