Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to provide technical assistance and support to our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring seamless operation of IT systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for technology and strong customer service skills to contribute to a dynamic team. The position is paid and ideal for those eager to develop their career in IT support.

Duties

Provide first-line technical support via help desk platforms such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and Jira, addressing user queries promptly and professionally.
Troubleshoot software issues across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
Resolve hardware problems related to computer hardware components, peripherals, and network equipment.
Configure and maintain computer networks, including LANs, VPNs, firewalls, and other security measures.
Assist with desktop support tasks such as installing, updating, and repairing software applications like Microsoft Office suite.
Perform basic troubleshooting of network connectivity issues involving LANs, VPNs, and firewall settings.
Support the setup and maintenance of operating systems and hardware components in a mixed environment.
Document technical issues and solutions accurately to facilitate ongoing support efforts.
Communicate effectively with users at all levels to explain complex technical information clearly and courteously.

Experience

PROVEN experience in technical support or IT support roles, ideally within a help desk environment.
Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including LANs, VPNs, firewalls, and network security protocols.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting software across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals.
Experience using ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow or Jira for issue tracking.
Knowledge of operating systems management including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a professional manner.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
