Theatre Events Supervisor – YMCA Leicestershire

Location: The Y Theatre, East Street, Leicester
Hours: 25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends in line with the events calendar
Salary: £17,199 per annum (£27,518 FTE), Grade B1

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Theatre Events Supervisor to help deliver an exciting programme of performances, venue hires and community events at The Y Theatre.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will lead by example, support our Front of House and Bar teams and ensure every event is delivered safely, professionally and to an excellent standard.

What this role is all about

As Theatre Events Supervisor, you will act as Duty Manager during events and help create a warm and welcoming experience from the moment customers arrive.

You will oversee the preparation and operation of the venue, support colleagues throughout their shifts and respond calmly and confidently to any challenges. You will also build positive relationships with performers, promoters, hirers and community partners.

Through excellent customer service and event delivery, you will help strengthen The Y Theatre’s reputation and generate income that directly supports YMCA Leicestershire’s work with young people and communities.

· Performances, conferences and events run smoothly and safely.

· Front of House and Bar teams feel supported and confident.

· Event spaces are prepared and presented to an excellent standard.

· Health and safety, licensing and safeguarding requirements are consistently upheld.

· Customers, performers and hirers choose to return because of the service they receive.

What you will bring

· Experience in customer service, hospitality, leisure, theatre, events or a similar environment.

· Experience supervising or coordinating staff or volunteers.

· Excellent communication and organisational skills.

· Experience handling cash and card transactions.

· Confidence using IT systems.

· An understanding of health and safety, safeguarding and equality.

· The ability to work independently and contribute positively to a wider team.

· Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with most events taking place between Thursday and Monday.

Experience of theatre, live events, bar operations or licensed premises would be an advantage but is not essential.
