The Role
VAA is looking for an ambitious, driven Surveyor or Senior Surveyor to join our dynamic and fast-growing Specialist Valuation team. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of some of the most high-profile and technically diverse valuation work in the UK, while developing a unique and highly sought-after skillset.
The role offers exposure to three distinct and complementary streams of work that set our team apart.
The first centres on large-scale public sector portfolio work. You will play a key role in delivering complex valuation instructions across major mandates, including Local Authorities, NHS bodies and central Government clients. These projects span a rich and varied mix of asset classes, from highly specialised properties through to mature investment portfolios. This breadth provides exceptional experience in understanding how large estates function and how value is assessed across diverse property types at scale.
The second stream focuses on deeply technical and niche specialist valuations. Our team advises on a unique range of alternative assets, including football stadiums, whisky distilleries, registered providers of affordable housing and other trading-based property businesses. This work goes beyond traditional valuation approaches, requiring a strong analytical mindset and an interest in understanding business performance, cash flows and the intrinsic drivers of value. It is an opportunity to develop expertise that very few valuers in the market possess.
The third stream reflects how we leverage our data and insight to deliver wider strategic advice. Through our extensive portfolio work, we identify broader opportunities for clients, contributing to estate rationalisation strategies, asset optimisation and wider consultancy instructions. This creates a strong link between valuation and advisory work, enabling you to move beyond pure technical delivery and play a part in shaping client strategy.
As such, this role offers a rare combination of breadth and depth. You will continue to build experience across more traditional commercial asset classes while simultaneously developing specialist expertise that will differentiate you in the market. Our team is continually evolving, and this growth has positioned VAA as one of the UK’s leading specialist valuation advisors.
A summary of what you can expect includes:
