Full job description

There is a real opportunity to build on this and support Diva’s further growth in existing and parallel markets.

This is a key role within the business, working with public sector organisations, large charities, social enterprises and related companies to support them in delivering the work they do with ethical, values-based marketing and communications services.

This role is commercially focused with the ultimate measure of success being the acquisition of new business, through a range of activities including proactive outreach activities such as Linkedin, email campaigns, email newsletters, networking, conferences and other outbound sales activities. There will also be the opportunity to gain referrals via existing clients and networks and to use existing work or examples of work to engage new contacts. You will be a key part of the team to meet the company’s annual revenue targets driven by the excellent work we are doing on nurturing and growing long term relationships with clients.

Working closely with the Managing Director, Operations Manager and senior management team the New Business Manager (NBM) will develop a coherent and achievable outreach strategy that works within the overall business growth strategy. This will require the NBM to align closely with the company’s ambitions, ethos and values, working closely with those responsible for marketing Diva as well as supporting the acquisition of new business through following up with proposals, quotations and where required client meetings.

The successful candidate will be required to make full use of AI tools and technologies to support outreach, new lead generation and targeting prospective clients. Experience in the use of tools such as Claude, Gemini and HubSpot are essential for this role.

There will also be an expectation that the NBM will support new business pitches where the skill set, experience or knowledge is needed. This will be as part of the pitch team. There will also be times where the NBM will need to respond to ad hoc quote requests that come in supported by the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility for acquiring new business for the company, working to agreed targets
Proactively outreach to potential clients using Linkedin and AI tools and other methods of outreach.
Clear plans of approach and achieving targets of leads generated.
Lead and develop client plans with Account Managers to ensure we are bringing in new projects from a proactive approach
Deliver and develop on any areas we can upsell and cross-sell by having a clear understanding of our clients
Passionate management style that drives engagement with the wider team and involves team members in the creation of strategy opportunities
Working closely with the MD and Operations Manager to contribute to the overall development of the business through innovation and understanding of where the business could take advantage of new opportunities due to trends, knowledge of government spend and insight from clients.
Attend any exhibitions or networking events as appropriate
Frequent check ins and working closely with Account Managers to proactively identify any case studies that can be created, Diva marketing opportunities, producing assets for outreach etc
Adhere to and promote the values of the company
An active contributor to the Diva Business Development team and the marketing of Diva

Personal Specification

Strong understanding of marketing and communications services and experience of building relationships with prospective clients for a service-related company
Experience of building excellent relationships with clients through a clear understanding of their needs and how to respond proactively and intelligently to build sustainable relationships
Demonstration of a commercial acumen and the ability to see opportunities in line with Diva’s values and ethics
Experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to utilise/exploit AI tools for outreach, lead generation, targeting, refining outreach strategies and implementing intelligence-based outreach with clear tracking and follow-up mechanisms in place.
Ideally experience of working with or engaging public sector organisations
Proactive and driven with a proven track record of achieving KPIs/targets
Logical thinker who regularly solves problems by employing creative solutions
Enjoys multi-tasking and has very strong personal organisation skills.
Strong verbal and listening skills
Strong team player who can engage, enthuse and develop through mirroring and mentoring you will have a positive approach.
Highly professional approach to work with sound commercial acumen to contribute to developing new opportunities for the company.

Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
