The Role

Reporting to the Head of Production, you'll be responsible for leading production performance across your shift, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, labour efficiency, people development and continuous improvement are all managed to a consistently high standard.

This isn’t a role for someone who’s content with simply overseeing the production line. We're looking for a leader who can improve the way production operates, using data, systems, process knowledge and strong people leadership to drive performance, reduce waste and develop a high-performing team.

You'll work in an environment where decisions are driven by data, customer expectations and continuous improvement, always looking for opportunities to raise standards and strengthen the operation for the future.

Hours of work: 42.5 hours per week. Salary negotiable dependant on experience.

What you’ll be doing

This is a role that balances today's priorities with tomorrow's opportunities. You'll be responsible for delivering strong results while continually looking for ways to strengthen the department for the future.

You’ll:

· Manage your shift effectively, delivering safe, efficient and high-quality production.

· Prioritise people, materials and resources to meet production plans and customer requirements.

· Improve the department for tomorrow by driving continuous improvement.

· Understand how production decisions affect the wider business, balancing quality, efficiency and customer delivery.

· Develop supervisors, team leaders and operators, helping them grow in confidence and capability.

· Challenge poor standards, recurring issues and inefficient ways of working.

· Use data and performance insights to identify root causes and make informed decisions.

· Embed improvements and make sure positive changes are sustained over the long term.

· Champion a culture where safety, quality and accountability are part of everything the team does.

· Help shape the future of production as Quickslide continues to invest in automation, technology and systems-led manufacturing.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for an experienced production leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and delivering results. You'll be someone who leads by example, takes ownership and is always looking for better ways of working.

You’ll bring:

· Proven experience leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Experience managing supervisors, team leaders or large production teams.

· A track record of improving productivity, quality, labour efficiency or operational performance.

· Confidence using production data, KPIs and performance insights to make informed decisions.

· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate and develop others.

· Experience identifying root causes, solving problems and embedding lasting improvements.

· A good understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S or similar improvement methodologies.

· A strong commitment to health, safety and quality, with high standards across every area of production.

· Commercial awareness and an understanding of how production decisions affect customers, efficiency and business performance.

· The confidence to challenge poor standards, embrace change and hold yourself and others accountable.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across Production, Quality, Maintenance and other support teams.

· A proactive approach, with the drive to spot opportunities, take ownership and make things better every day.

Your First 90 Days

In your first few months, you'll take the time to understand how we operate, build relationships across the business and identify opportunities to make a positive impact.

You'll:

· Get to know our products, production processes and customer priorities.

· Build strong working relationships with your team and colleagues across the business.

· Understand current performance, KPIs and production challenges.

· Identify quick wins and longer-term improvement opportunities.

· Set clear expectations and support the development of your team.

· Begin delivering improvements that strengthen performance, quality and efficiency.

How Success is Measured

Success in this role will be measured through both day-to-day operational performance and your contribution to continuous improvement. Key measures include:

· OTIF (On Time In Full) performance.

· Production output against plan.

· Labour efficiency and output per labour hour.

· Quality performance and first-time-right manufacture.

· Reduction in rework, remakes and waste.

· Downtime management and reduction of recurring issues.

· Delivery performance and reduced missed or late orders.

· Attendance, conduct and timekeeping across your team.

· Training progress, skills development and cross-skilling.

· The capability and development of supervisors and team leaders.

· High standards of housekeeping, organisation and 5S.

· Health and safety compliance, including volume of incidents.

· Clear, accurate and effective shift handovers.

· Delivery and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives.

· Contribution to wider operational improvement across the business.
