The Major Projects Association is the UK's leading professional association dedicated to improving the initiation and delivery of major projects.
Our members comprise senior leaders from government departments, infrastructure owners and operators, major contractors, professional service firms, investors and academia. Together, they are responsible for some of the UK's most significant infrastructure, transformation and capital investment programmes.
Through research, events, leadership development and the sharing of practical experience, the Association provides a trusted forum where members collaborate to improve the success of major projects and contribute to economic growth and societal outcomes.
The Role
The Major Projects Association is seeking a Content, Design & Publications Executive to support the creation, design and publication of our reports, presentations, infographics, podcasts, videos, and other digital content.
This is a unique role combining graphic design, editorial production, multimetbedia content creation and publication management. Working at the heart of the UK's leading network for major projects, you will transform complex ideas, research and thought leadership into compelling content that informs, influences and inspires senior leaders across government, infrastructure, construction, transport, defence, utilities and professional services.
As design professional, reporting to the Studies & Knowledge Manager, you will take ownership of the visual presentation and production of the Association's outputs across multiple media. From designing flagship reports and conference materials to creating infographics, producing podcasts, developing explainer videos and preparing presentations for senior audiences, you will ensure that our content is engaging, accessible and professionally delivered.
Working closely with the Studies & Knowledge Manager (editorial responsibility), external authors, researchers, speakers and subject matter experts, you will guide projects from initial concept through to publication and distribution. You will collaborate with our content and events team to shape narratives, develop visual storytelling approaches and identify the most effective formats for communicating insights to our membership community.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with authors and contributors to transform draft manuscripts and technical content into engaging, publication-ready outputs.
- Designing and producing high-quality reports, publications, presentations and event materials.
- Creating visual assets including infographics, diagrams, illustrations and data visualisations that communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Producing and editing multimedia content including podcasts, short-form videos, interviews and explainer videos.
- Supporting the publication process from design and layout through to final production and distribution.
- Maintaining and evolving the Association's visual identity, ensuring consistency and quality across all communications channels.
- Advising colleagues on the most effective ways to communicate ideas through a combination of written, visual, audio and video formats.
- Exploring and adopting new digital tools, creative approaches and emerging technologies to enhance the reach and impact of our content.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Relevant professional experience.
- Strong editorial judgement, creativity and attention to detail.
- Experience producing professional publications, reports and presentation materials.
- Experience creating multimedia content, including audio and video production.
- Experience of responsible use of Generative AI to assist with content design, creation and dissemination.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (or equivalent packages).
- Excellent design and production skills.
- Excellent time management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong graphic design, layout and visual storytelling capabilities.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Proven creative ability to produce original, engaging, and impactful visual and written content.
- Equally comfortable designing an industry report, creating an infographic, editing a podcast episode or developing a short video that brings complex project delivery concepts to life.
- Ability to translate complex technical or professional subject matter into engaging content for diverse audiences.

Employment Type
Reports to: Studies & Knowledge Manager
Contract: 21 hours per week part time, permanent (6-month probationary period)
Location: Hybrid (Oxfordshire, London and home working) with attendance at Association events as required.
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
