Technical Sales Estimator / Business Development Manager - Structural Steelwork & Architectural Metal Work.

Location: Bletchley, Milton Keynes.

Following our continued success, we are proud to announce the opening of another facility in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, with our head office being in Chesterfield Derbyshire.

We pride ourselves on offering an end-to-end, full house solution for our clients. Our dedicated internal resources include a highly skilled team of TEKLA BIM Draftsmen, fabrication facility, and experienced, in-house site erection labour. This end-to-end capability ensures we maintain total quality control, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery programmes across the UK.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated Technical Sales Estimator / Business Development Manager to join our team and drive growth from our new Bletchley base.

This hybrid role bridges proactive business development and technical estimation. Your primary mission will be to generate new enquiries and secure profitable tender wins. You will focus specifically on building relationships with main contractors and developers, targeting projects involving:

Structural Steelwork. (our typical bread and butter schemes are 10-20 ton projects).
Architectural Metalwork (including feature staircases, balustrades, canopies, and balconies).

Key Responsibilities

Business Development: Actively identify, target, and open doors with new commercial clients, main contractors, and project managers to secure incoming tender opportunities.
Tender Estimation: Review architectural and structural drawings to calculate accurate structural steel tonnages, material costs, fabrication hours, and site erection requirements.
Client Management: Serve as the technical point of contact for clients throughout the pre-construction phase, handling mid-bid clarifications and post-tender negotiations.

About You:

Industry Experience: Proven track record working within structural steelwork or architectural metalwork contracting in a sales, business development, or estimating capacity.
Technical Literacy: Ability to confidently read, interpret, and take off quantities from engineering and architectural drawings.
Self-Motivated & Driven: A natural relationship builder with a hunter mindset, comfortable generating your own leads and driving enquiries from scratch.
Commercially Savvy: Strong understanding of profit margins, risk mitigation, and standard UK construction procurement processes.
Software Skills: Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook.
