Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Support Technician to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance, providing essential support to ensure smooth and efficient IT operations across the organization. Your enthusiasm for technology, combined with strong communication skills, will help resolve a wide range of hardware and software issues, contributing to a positive user experience and maintaining high system availability. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to grow their IT skills in a fast-paced environment while making a tangible impact on daily business functions.

Duties

Respond promptly to user inquiries via help desk tickets, phone calls, or email, delivering exceptional customer service and technical support.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and network connectivity.
Assist with software troubleshooting including Microsoft Office suite, VPN connections, firewall configurations, and remote access tools.
Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Help manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory and assist with password resets or account lockouts.
Monitor network performance and assist with basic network troubleshooting involving LAN (Local Area Network), TCP/IP protocols, DNS (Domain Name System), and TCP connections.
Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate complex issues using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy for tracking incidents and requests.
Assist in maintaining inventory records of hardware assets using SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) or similar tools.
Participate in routine system updates, patches, and backups to ensure security compliance and operational stability.

Experience

Previous experience in an IT support role or help desk environment is preferred but not required; relevant internships are welcome.
Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN topology, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, VPN setup, and firewall configuration.
Basic understanding of operating systems including Windows (client/server), macOS, and Linux distributions.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory for user management is advantageous.
Experience troubleshooting software issues within Microsoft Office applications and other common enterprise software.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users with patience and professionalism.
Strong analysis skills to identify root causes of problems quickly and effectively escalate when necessary.
Familiarity with remote support tools such as SCCM or ServiceNow helps streamline issue resolution processes.
