Full job description

Job Overview
We have an opportunity for an experienced chef capable of running a busy Golf club kitchen. It's an exciting time with our new bistro almost ready to open. This brings an opportunity to be creative with menus along side the usual staples of golf club life.

We are open 7 days so your shifts will primarily be 4 or 5 days and mainly day time shifts 9-5 approx. There are occasional evening events.

Capable of working alone or in a small team in a busy kitchen producing fresh food to good standards.

Duties

coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food production and service.

Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and customer preferences.
Assist food preparation processes, ensuring all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and utilised effectively.
Support the kitchen team by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
Collaborate with management to develop new menu items that reflect current culinary trends and customer feedback.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and report any issues promptly.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Previous supervisory or team management experience is essential.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on fostering teamwork within the kitchen.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A genuine passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory. Join us in creating exceptional culinary experiences that delight our guests!
