Job function
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Support Apprentice will join our growing People/HR team in Solihull and gain practical, hands-on experience across a broad range of HR activities while working towards a Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship qualification.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in Human Resources who is enthusiastic about developing their knowledge and professional skills.
Working alongside experienced HR professionals, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the business and gain exposure to areas including the employee lifecycle, HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR systems, policies and procedures.
The role will combine workplace experience with formal apprenticeship learning, providing a strong foundation for a successful career in Human Resources.
Specific responsibilities
The following outlines the primary areas of responsibility. Additional responsibilities or functions may be required as necessary to support the business.

Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems.

Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

Support recruitment activities, including arranging interviews, preparing documentation and maintaining candidate records.

Assist with the preparation and administration of new starter documentation and contracts.

Respond to routine HR queries and escalate more complex matters appropriately.

Support the administration of employee absence, annual leave and other HR records.

Assist with HR reports, spreadsheets and basic data analysis.

Ensure HR documentation and records are maintained accurately and confidentially.

Support the organisation of HR meetings, training sessions and employee engagement activities.

Assist with the administration of performance management and employee development processes.

Support the HR team with company policies, procedures and internal communications.

Gain exposure to employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance and absence procedures, under appropriate supervision.

Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work collaboratively with managers and colleagues across the business.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.

Complete apprenticeship learning, assessments and development activities as required.
